Building a productive, competitive and resilient nation” MGDS III
The DPP will prioritise:
Development of new legal and institutional frameworks for natural resources that protect the long term interests of the country.
Introduction of alternative sources of energy such as solar, wind and biogas.
Provision of new incentives to people in rural areas to use electricity while growing more trees, especially fast growing trees.
Having separated the functions of ESCOM into electricity production, distribution, and marketing, we will run the autonomous institutions efficiently while we encourage more private sector players to invest in the energy sector.
Improving, upgrading and pricing of our hotels to enable them to offer more value for money especially for bargain-hunters and to introduce more competition in the hotel industry to avoid poor services arising from monopoly.
